Fairmont Stories · 60th Anniversary Campaign
For their 60th anniversary, Fairmont Homes invited people to share the homebuilding stories that had become part of its history.
The resulting campaign centred on five Fairmont households. Through personal interviews and footage captured inside their homes, each film explored the memories, relationships and everyday moments that turn a house into something much more.
An anniversary campaign can quickly become a timeline of milestones, designs and houses built.
Fairmont’s history lives inside thousands of South Australian homes and in the people who have made their lives there.
The films needed to celebrate that legacy without becoming overly polished or sentimental.
Peter and Julie
Peter and Julie packed a lot of life changes into a small stretch of time; graduating from uni, getting engaged, and building their first home.
Both come from Italian families, so the kitchen and open-plan living were always going to be the heart of their home.
At the front of the home, a peach tree germinated from Julie’s Nonna stands on the lawn; a small piece of the family planted into the home they built together.
Jenna and Matt
After five years working in the country - missed birthdays, weddings and Christmases, Jenna and Matt came back to Adelaide to build their forever home.
Getting the keys felt like an accomplishment; relatives visiting them in their own home, everyone gathered around the kitchen island, kids playing on the grass.
Jenna and Matt’s home is now always open to their family.
Ken and Maricris
Ken and Maricris moved to Australia in 2014 and spent a number of years between houses before deciding to build their own.
They compare the process of building with Fairmont with Bayanihan, a Filipino idea of community coming together to carry one another.
Their two daughters make their house a home.
We produced five documentary-style films featuring Fairmont homeowners and the lives they had built inside their homes.
Working with a small crew allowed us to keep each shoot relaxed and personal. Carefully filmed interviews were paired with simple, observational footage of the people, objects and spaces that carried each story.

Working with digital yarn was an extremely positive experience. Charlie and the team were professional, organised and reliable, delivering high-quality work on time and within budget. They were easy to work with and showed attention to detail across lighting, sound and the overall look and feel of each shoot. During filming, they were friendly and approachable, and made our customers feel completely at ease in front of the camera, which was particularly important for this project. They also brought a sense of humour and friendly banter to the shoots, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The team interpreted the brief exceptionally well and were able to bring each individuals story to life in an authentic and engaging way. The quality of the final videos exceeded our expectations, particularly the editing and storytelling.
The turnaround was also impressive, with edits delivered quickly without compromising on quality. They understood exactly what we were trying to achieve and translated that into a finished product that felt genuine, professional and aligned perfectly with our brand. The entire process was very well managed, communication was clear throughout, and we were extremely happy with both the experience and the final result.
I would highly recommend digital yarn. They are professional, creative and genuinely enjoyable to work with. Most importantly, the end result exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for a team that understands your brief, pays attention to the finer details and can create high-quality content with strong storytelling, digital yarn is an excellent choice.
