Impact Video for AusArt Giving Day

Putting the artists at the centre of a giving day.

AusArt Day is Creative Australia's national giving day for the arts; a sector-wide push, launched in 2025, that asks hundreds of artists and organisations to fundraise together on a single day. The idea is to lift the profile of arts giving and reach donors who might not otherwise think to give.

This also makes it a crowded day. With that many organisations making their case at once, standing out is the real challenge.

To help participants cut through, Creative Australia offered micro-grants for producing digital content. Access2Arts used one to make something with a life well beyond the campaign; a set of artist-led films the organisation owns and can keep using long after Giving Day is done.

The key decision was to build the campaign around individual artists instead of a general ‘donate’ message.

A broad video about giving asks people to support a cause. A specific film asks them to back a person and their work. The second is much harder to scroll past.

We worked with a diverse group of South Australian artists and asked each of them to speak about themselves, their practice, their identity, and how Access2Arts has helped them.

Because Access2Arts exists to make the arts genuinely accessible for Deaf and Disabled people, the films were built the same way. Auslan interpretation, open captions and considered framing were integrated from the outset.

The result is a small library that features the artists at the heart of the organisation, rather than the organisation talking about itself, and content that keeps working for Access2Arts long after Giving Day is over.

Working with digital yarn was collaborative, respectful, and genuinely enjoyable. Charlie listened deeply, communicated clearly, and brought creative insight to every step. He made the process feel easy and supportive, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

digital yarn not only captured our message beautifully but elevated it. The storytelling, pacing, and accessibility of the final video exceeded our expectations and perfectly reflected the spirit of AusArt Day and our Access4All: Arts4All campaign. We had a lot of accessibility requirements that were non-negotiable for us and digital yarn worked through each element seamlessly.

If you want to work with someone that truly listens, values collaboration, and delivers thoughtful, creative content digital yarn is the right choice. Charlie brings professionalism and heart in equal measure. Once we moved into post production there was little feedback we could offer, because Charlie captured the essence of what we needed from our early consultations.
